Meet Our Specialists

Gloria Verdino, RD, CDN, will be at Washingtonville Pediatrics on Wednesdays, and will see patients of all ages regarding dietary and physical fitness needs.

The list of Gloria’s experience in clinical nutrition is extensive, and includes work as a clinical dietitian, a clinical nutrition manager, a site supervisor, and a registered dietitian. She currently holds the position of clinical nutrition manager for Sodexo in Cortlandt Manor, and that of registered dietitian at Horizon Family Medical Group in Goshen.

Gloria earned her bachelor of science in nutrition and her certification of advanced studies from C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York. She also holds a bachelor of science in biology from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She is currently pursuing her master of science in clinical nutrition from Rutgers University.

Gloria is an active member and the treasurer of of the Mid-Hudson Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

 

 

Stephanie Sosnowski, BS, ICCE, IBCLC, RLC, is available to work with expectant and nursing mothers and their babies. She provides education about the many benefits of breastfeeding, teach breastfeeding positions and proper latch technique, help with breastfeeding issues or problems and address breastfeeding concerns, including breastfeeding for special needs babies.  Stephanie also facilitates our very popular Mothers of Newborns Support Group which is held on alternating Fridays from 12-1 pm.

Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience in perinatal and maternal-infant health care. Most recently, she has served as both the  deputy director and the perinatal programs manager at the Maternal-Infant Services Network of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster Counties, Inc. She also has experience as a Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) breastfeeding peer counselor coordinator and trainer for the Orange County Department of Health.

Stephanie has also spent many years volunteering her time with various organizations. She is currently the corresponding secretary for the New York Statewide Breastfeeding Coalition, Inc., as well as the regional coordinator for the Mid-Hudson Lactation Consortium. She also serves on the program services committee for the March of Dimes.

Stephanie earned her bachelor of science in organizational leadership and communication from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She is a certified childbirth educator, certified IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), International Childbirth Education Association certified birth instructor, American Council on Exercise certified group fitness instructor, and American Heart Association CPR certified. She is a member of the International Childbirth Education Association, the International Lactation Consultant Association, the United States Lactation Consultant Association, the New York State Perinatal Association, the International Cesarean Awareness Network, ASPO Lamaze and the Empire State Lactation Consultant Association.
