The Health and Wellness Counseling Center offers the following groups for adults and children. Sessions are 45 minutes each and run 6-10 weeks depending on the group. Worry Brain, No More (Tuesdays at 4:30 pm)

This group offers support and guidance to children ages 9-10 who experience anxiety. Whether it is social, generalized, or separation anxiety, your child will gain support from their peers, learn why they feel the way they do, and learn strategies to help them overcome anxiety.
Grief Support Group (Tuesdays at 7:00 pm)

This support group is for adults who have experienced a loss in their life. Participants will gain support and understanding from others who have experienced a similar loss. We will discuss the grieving process, prolonged grief, tools to cope with grief, and ways to come to terms with the loss.
It is tough being a girl, especially in this day and age! This group is designed to help girls find their voice and face the varied challenges that are thrust upon them in adolescence. We will focus on topics such as body image, self-confidence, interpersonal relationships, peer pressure, bullying, relational aggression, problem solving, and daily stressors.
Boys’ Social Club

This group is designed to help boys who experience difficulties in the areas of expressive communication and social interaction. Our focus will be on improving conversational skills, learning effective strategies to deal with peer pressure, improving problem solving and decision making skills, recognizing the feelings of others, recognizing and interpreting body language and gestures, and learning how to develop and build friendships and relationships. These skills are taught utilizing fun, structured activities that include arts and crafts, role playing, and interactive play.

Co-Parenting (Mondays at 6:30 pm)

This parenting support group will focus on positive co-parenting. We will discuss a variety of parenting techniques and approaches which are essential to meeting the needs of children growing up between two homes . These include: working with the other household, conflict disengagement and alternative dispute options. This group is a supportive atmosphere to help find effective ways to improve your relationship with your child.
Whats’s Next (Thursdays at 6:00 pm)

This group will begin looking into ways to build support, wellness and promote coping techniques among young women who are facing the struggles of the early 20’s: career choices, indecisiveness, stress, and anxiety about the future! This group will be ideal for women ages 20-24.
